The daily grind

The counter runs the shop. So why is the counter a whiteboard?

Independent shops don't lose money on the lift. They lose it at the counter - in the gaps between paper tickets, memory, and good intentions.

The whiteboard is the system

Every open job lives on a board or in a notebook - until someone erases the wrong line or the notebook walks off.

Bikes stall on $12 parts

A machine sits for two weeks because nobody tracked that one part was ordered, backordered, or never ordered at all.

"Is my bike ready?" calls

The phone rings all day with status questions, and every answer means stopping a tech to go look.

Estimates on napkins

Quotes get written fast, approved verbally, and argued about later because there's no record of what was promised.

Balances in your head

Who owes what, which ticket is paid, which one walked out - it's tracked in memory until it isn't.

History in one person's head

What was done to this bike last season, which parts, which jetting - it leaves the shop when a person does.

In the pilot today

What TorqueBench does right now

These are the tools available in the private pilot.

Front counter

The floor at a glance

Open jobs, bikes waiting on parts, bikes ready for pickup, and open balances - one screen, current, visible to the whole counter.

Work orders

Estimate to ticket

Build the estimate, turn it into a work order, track labor and parts line items, and move the job through clear statuses.

Shop diary

The week, planned

Schedule jobs and appointments so Monday's chaos is a plan on Friday instead of a surprise.

Parts counter

Parts on the ticket

Search your parts catalog, add parts to tickets, and prepare draft purchase orders. Supplier orders are placed outside TorqueBench.

Customers & bikes

History that stays

Every customer and every machine keeps its full service history in the shop, not in someone's memory.

Balances

Who owes what

Tickets show balances based on the charges and payments you record. Check the amount before closing a job.

See it work

The 101

A narrated walkthrough of the real product - front counter, work orders, diary, parts, and customers - running on fictional demo shop data.

On purpose

Not included in the pilot

Payments are records only. Customer messages are drafts. Supplier ordering stays outside TorqueBench.

Payments: log-only

TorqueBench records balances and payments you take in the shop. It does not charge cards, take online payments, or touch your money.

Customer messaging: draft-only

Pickup and status reminders are prepared as drafts for your review. Nothing messages your customers by itself.

Supplier ordering

Search the catalog and stage draft purchase orders. TorqueBench does not place supplier orders.

Free 6-8 week pilot

Run it alongside what you do today

No rip-and-replace. Your current system - paper, spreadsheets, or other software - stays primary for the whole pilot.

  1. Tell us about your shop. One email: your shop, your city, and how you track work today. That's the whole application.
  2. We set it up for you. We set up your workspace and review your exports with you. What can be imported depends on the records available; missing bike or job details may need to be added.
  3. Use it in parallel for 6-8 weeks. Run the front counter on TorqueBench next to your current process. Break it. Compare it.
  4. Share practical feedback when you can. A short note on what worked, what broke, or what was missing. There is no fixed weekly obligation.

No cost · No card · No obligation · We handle setup & imports · Practical feedback

Plain pilot terms

The 6-8 week pilot is free, with no card, no automatic paid subscription, and no obligation to buy afterward. Keep your current system primary. This is beta software and may have bugs, downtime, or missing features; there are no uptime guarantees or warranties.

Your shop owns its data. Request an export or deletion at any time. Either side can end the pilot with notice, without a fee or penalty. TorqueBench will not identify your shop in marketing or use your quotes without permission. You get a first look at pricing at the end, with no obligation.

Why it exists

Motorcycle repair shop software, sized for independents

TorqueBench starts where your day starts: the counter of an independent motorcycle repair shop. Work orders, estimates, service history, parts, and balances, on one screen the whole counter can see. Nothing rented from a dealer suite, and no hostage data: ask for an export or deletion at any time.

Fair questions

FAQ

Is it really free?
Yes. The 6-8 week pilot costs nothing, we never ask for a card, and there's no obligation to continue. Pilot shops get the software, setup, and data imports free with practical feedback when you can.
Do I have to replace my current system?
No. TorqueBench runs alongside whatever you use today - paper, a whiteboard, spreadsheets, or other software. Your current process stays primary for the whole pilot.
What happens to my shop's data?
It's your data. We use it only to run your pilot workspace - never sold, never shared, never used to train anything. You can request an export or deletion at any time.
Does it take payments or message my customers?
No - deliberately. Payments are log-only (you record what you took, nothing is charged), customer reminders are drafts you approve, and supplier ordering stays the way you do it today. There are no automatic customer sends or live supplier orders.
What kinds of shops is TorqueBench for?
Independent motorcycle and powersports repair shops: one counter, a few techs, too many bikes to track on a whiteboard. Cruisers, sport, dirt, scooters, ATVs, vintage - the pilot runs on the motorcycle vertical today.
What does it cost after the pilot?
Pricing is not set yet. Pilot shops get a first look at pricing with no obligation. The pilot itself costs nothing, ever.
Who is building this?
TorqueBench is built in Austin, Texas for independent motorcycle and powersports shops. The pilot exists so the product gets shaped by real counters, not guesses.
